Reports To: Fort Carson Project Manager

Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:30 pm - 12:00 am

SERVICE PHILOSOPHY

Summary

The Fort Carson Lead Custodian ("Lead") supports work performed under the authority of the Fort Carson custodial contract ("Contract") by performing custodial services, providing transportation, and overseeing the availability of adequate cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment. The Lead works alongside co‑workers, including individuals served.

Shift Availability
  • Days, Evenings, Night shifts, and Weekends are available.
  • Gyms open as early as 4:30 am for an opening shift and close as late as 12:30 am.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties
  • Lead and direct assigned coworkers in daily custodial duties
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and direction from Fort Carson Project Management
  • Provide on‑site instruction in proper cleaning techniques
  • Ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available and used correctly
  • Perform quality control inspections and redirect staff as needed
  • Follow and communicate all safety procedures, including SDS requirements
  • Safely operate and direct use of cleaning chemicals, power equipment, and electrical appliances
  • Drive PDI vehicles to transport staff, supplies, and equipment in accordance with company and customer policies
Custodial Responsibilities
  • Prepare and use cleaning solutions per manufacturer and safety guidelines
  • Clean floors, carpets, furniture, windows, restrooms, offices, and common areas
  • Empty trash and transport waste to disposal areas
  • Replenish restroom supplies
  • Set up tables, chairs, and equipment as required
  • Drive PDI vehicles as required to transport self, co‑workers, materials, supplies and equipment to a specific location
  • Closely follow all PDI and customer‑specific driving rules, policies and regulations
Safety
  • Report equipment repair or replacement needs to supervisor
  • Monitor coworkers to ensure all safety policies are followed
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not supervise employees but provides daily direction and guidance to coworkers, including individuals served.

    The Lead has no supervisory responsibilities but does provide direction to co‑workers, including individuals served.
Minimum Requirements
  • Age 21 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of custodial experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
  • Pass background check, drug screening, and required certifications (First Aid/CPR)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Required

Education and Experience
  • A high school degree or its equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Work performed at Fort Carson, CO
  • Exposure to weather, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise levels
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands
Schedule & Travel
  • Full‑time, non‑exempt
  • Monday–Friday with evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Occasional travel within 50 miles
