About the Role

Support Supervisor by Leading heavy equipment personnel performing equipment operations, and road maintenance and support.

Plan and schedule all shop maintenance requests. Determine priorities, personnel, and equipment and materials and supplies and ensure compliance with safety program. Assist and train less experienced operators and maintain performance and operation records.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Aides Supervisor with oversite of the operations of a heavy equipment or specialized function; plans, lays out, assigns, and supervises the work of operators.
  • Inspects work performed by equipment operator workers, and helpers to ensure compliance with established standards
  • Maintains accurate work records and related documents; writes accurate and complete work reports for management use; helps to resolve operational problems
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, helps to streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Trains and monitors Operators, Truck Drivers and GMWs in the operations of the Heavy Equipment Team.
  • Completes all training within required timeline.
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside-weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee occasionally works in precarious places and is occasionally exposed to dust and debris.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Prefer five years of skilled years experience in the heavy equipment operations. Computer Skills including MS Office applications, Maximo and Cost point preferred. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
  • Must possess a class A CDL with no restrictions.
  • Asphalt experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of CDOT standards is desired.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier
    1) background check.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume work area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.
