ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $54,037. (Salaries are paid biweekly)
ANNUAL ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $61,000. (Salaries are paid biweekly)

Job SummaryThe Signal Construction Technician II performs skilled, independent construction, installation, and maintenance of traffic signal infrastructure to support safe and reliable transportation operations. This position is responsible for advanced field work involving underground conduit systems, signal foundations, wiring, electrical components, and associated traffic signal equipment. Working with minimal supervision, the Technician II applies technical expertise to read and interpret construction plans, wiring diagrams, and signal phasing documentation to ensure accurate, compliant, and high-quality installations.
In addition to core construction duties, this role assists with and supports crane truck operations for signal pole, mast arm, and structure installations, performs preventative maintenance and asset inspections, and troubleshoots complex electrical and construction issues in the field. The Technician II serves as a technical resource for Signal Construction Technician I staff by providing guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training, and may act as lead support on assigned tasks or projects.
This position regularly coordinates work with other technicians, inspectors, and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project delivery.
This role also participates in on-call rotations, and after-hours response as needed to maintain the reliability of the City’s traffic signal system. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position requiring operation of heavy equipment and vehicles, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.…
