Temporary Position – 9 Months or Less (Pay $16.55–$17.50 per Hour)
Employment starts Spring 2026. Positions will be filled as they become available.
ANS Boat Inspection TechnicianA customer‑service‑based role focused on preventing the spread of invasive aquatic nuisance species on boats and personal watercraft.
- Staff the ANS inspection station.
- Conduct physical boat inspections and decontamination and interview boaters.
- Provide information, brochures, and education on State Park regulations and ANS prevention.
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance of inspection areas and surrounding grounds.
- Accurately count and record all boat inspections using written or phone‑application software.
- Document and report visitor complaints as required.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Maintain and clean public facilities including restrooms, showers, campgrounds, picnic areas, and trails.
- Provide customer service and information to visitors.
- Assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, and transport of materials and supplies.
- Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, weed control, and upkeep of visitor use areas.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Staff the park entrance and visitor center stations.
- Offer information, maps, brochures, and orientation to visitors.
- Sell park passes, permits, and merchandise; handle cash transactions.
- Operate the telephone system and manage messages.
- Perform photocopying, filing, and shift reporting.
- Assist with special events and programs within the park.
- Provide light cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior visitor areas.
- Document and report visitor complaints as required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors on weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- May need to undergo a criminal background investigation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Available for up to 40 hours per week during the summer season.
- Flexible with school schedule if needed.
May require considerable use of arms and legs: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
