SummaryThis seasonal Gardens Facility Attendant position extends through the end of October. Duties include event setup and strike (setting up tables, chairs, sign frames, tents, and other event equipment according to diagrams for any scheduled events), grounds maintenance (leaf blowing, raking, weeding along pathways, and similar duties), and general custodial and janitorial duties as needed. The position is scheduled to work early morning, weekday, weekend, and evening shifts regularly.
Hours will fluctuate based on event bookings, seasonal site needs, and overall event staffing considerations.
- Maintain the Gardens on Spring Creek external grounds and pathways, including leaf blowing, raking, sweeping, debris removal, pathway area weeding, emptying waste and recycling, wiping surfaces, and similar duties.
- Perform setup and strike of event equipment including tables, chairs, sign frames, barricades, cones, AV equipment, tents, linens, etc. according to event diagrams and written plans.
- Function independently or as part of a team to execute maintenance and setup duties.
- Use event plans and diagrams to identify priorities and line out actions for shift.
- Assist with setup and tear down of external holiday lighting and décor.
- Maintain operational readiness while on duty, remedy or report deficiencies to supervisor or event lead on duty.
- During events, monitor event areas and maintain tidiness for patrons as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, attending to trash/recycle and restrooms, wiping down surfaces and similar custodial duties.
- Perform janitorial and custodial duties as part of daily duties as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of chairs, tables, sign frames, and other event equipment or supplies.
- Perform work without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment with ability to identify and prioritize daily duties and unexpected challenges.
- Set up and troubleshoot basic speaker/microphone equipment following provided instructions, ensuring functionality and readiness for events.
- Assists with resource inventory, equipment maintenance, or other event-related projects as assigned.
- May support other Arts and Culture Department facilities, as needed and assigned.
- Position does not have supervisory responsibilities for employees.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, speak, understand and write.
- One year event setup, custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
