Salary/Hourly Rate:$23.57

The Janitor cleans and keeps facility working areas in an orderly condition and washrooms, or premises of an office, commercial or other establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following:
Sweeping and mopping floors; removing trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms, cleaning conference rooms and breakrooms, and vacuuming offices and cubicle areas. Scheduled cleanings of Stairwells and entryways. Lab support/cleaning as per protocols. May be asked to assist Lead Floor Care Specialist with tasks.

Primary Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

Maintains building interior as scheduled by dusting and polishing ledges/sills and detail cleaning; furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping/mopping and vacuuming floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture; resupplying restrooms; cleaning and vacuuming conference rooms and breakrooms.

Scheduled Vacuuming of offices and cubicles. Daily vacuuming of corridors/common areas.

Maintains building appearance by picking up papers, trash and debris.

Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; collecting recycling materials.

Scheduled cleaning of Stairwells and entryways.

Lab support/Cleaning as per protocols.

Additional Responsibilities Maintains safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Assist Lead Floor Care Specialist as needed.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.

At least one (1) year custodial experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to understand and follow direction.

Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.

Must have good oral/verbal communication skills.

and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
