Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities and grounds at Kids In Distress. This role ensures a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for staff, children, and visitors by performing routine maintenance, addressing repair needs, and supporting preventative maintenance efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems and components
- Complete light electrical work including fixtures, outlets, and minor wiring repairs
- Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, clearing clogs, and replacing fixtures
- Maintain grounds through weed trimming and leaf removal
- Conduct pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, and outdoor areas
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks and maintain service schedules
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical labor
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to heat, humidity, noise, and mechanical equipment.
