We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Shift Engineer to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team!

Position Overview

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking an experienced and multi-skilled Shift Engineer to join our facility maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical integrity, operational safety, and high presentation standards of our luxury resort, marina, and supporting facilities. Operating on a scheduled shift basis, the Shift Engineer acts as the primary technical contact during assigned hours, monitoring central plant systems, conducting routine preventative maintenance, and rapidly resolving guestroom and public space work orders to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities You will perform hands‑on diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks across mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and HVAC systems. Daily duties include completing guest room maintenance requests via internal dispatch systems, performing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) inspections, logging utility readings, and inspecting key physical plant equipment. You will also oversee emergency response protocols for engineering issues during your shift (including water leaks, power interruptions, and basic life-safety systems), ensuring minimal disruption to resort operations and strict compliance with local codes and OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements The ideal candidate possesses at least 2 to 4 years of commercial facility or luxury hospitality engineering experience. You should have strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and basic carpentry or drywall repair. Excellent problem‑solving skills, physical stamina to navigate a large property, and a collaborative, customer‑first service mindset are essential. Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and overnight coverage as operational needs dictate is required, alongside relevant technical certifications such as EPA Universal, CPO, or trade licenses preferred.
