Job Summary
Position Title: Building and Grounds Maintenance
Location: Transportation Department
Salary Range: District Classified Salary Schedule - $20-26 per hour; must be 16 years or older.

Job PurposePerforms maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in optimal condition; provides assistance with custodial, students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary. Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.
Essential Functions- Help keep the campus clean by picking up trash and pulling weeds
- Mow lawns and help keep grass areas looking nice
- Set up spaces for sports, events, and school activities
- Drive district vehicles to different work locations (if eligible)
- Use basic tools and equipment like mowers and trimmers
- Help remove snow when needed
- Respond to urgent clean-up or safety needs
- Help with basic repairs and upkeep of school buildings
- Assist with irrigation (sprinkler) systems
- Set up rooms and spaces for indoor events
- Move equipment, furniture, and supplies as needed
- Help unload deliveries and organize supplies
- Work with and support custodial staff
- Ability to successfully and cooperatively fulfill assigned responsibilities
- Work as a positive team member
- Ability to accept a variety of assignments, in various settings and with several individuals
Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; fine finger dexterity. Requires 40% walking and 60% standing; performed under temperature extremes in a generally hazard-free environment.
Conditions of Employment- Position is per Weld County School District Re-8 calendar
- Hours:
(6:00 am – 4:30 pm) during the summer (to be determined by the Director of Support Services or designee) - All agreements for employment of personnel shall be subject to the approval of the Board of Education.
- No smoking is allowed in any Weld County School District Re-8 buildings.
