A Maintenance Engineer performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility.
Reports to:
Director Facilities
FLSA:
Non‑exempt
- Essential Functions
- Installs, tests, maintains, operates and repairs machinery, equipment, and systems as scheduled or needed.
- Performs major and minor maintenance work.
- Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons.
- Assists with inspection, testing, and maintenance of all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors and other fire/safety‑related equipment and systems.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures on equipment, building systems, and utility systems as assigned.
- Moves items within/between locations and from/to storage.
- Assembles and relocates furniture.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent Required.
Work Experience:
- Two years’ institutional/commercial maintenance experience required
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and/or electronic systems required.
- Valid Driver’s License

Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
