Mowing Program Inspector (Seasonal/Temporary)

Schedule:

7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, or flexible as needed

You’ll be the eyes on the ground ensuring City-owned properties are maintained to standard. From inspecting mowing work to responding to concerns, you’ll help keep Fort Wayne clean, safe, and compliant.

• Inspect City-owned properties after mowing to ensure contract compliance
• Respond to and investigate complaints related to property conditions and ordinance violations
• Make real-time decisions in the field to address issues and recommend corrective actions
• Communicate with residents, contractors, and City departments professionally—even in challenging situations
• Document inspections using GIS, digital tools, and databases while maintaining accurate records

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field
• Comfortable interacting with the public and handling concerns professionally
• Ability to read maps, follow procedures, and complete written reports

• Valid Indiana Driver's License
• Current auto insurance

• Familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Office, and web-based systems
• Ability to use handheld devices, cameras, and basic measuring tools
• Understanding of inspection processes or municipal codes is a plus
