Location: Corporate Office (Fort Wayne, IN)
Shift: 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday through Thursday
Job SummaryResponsible for providing a safe and comfortable environment for all employees by maintaining the buildings and grounds in a state of good repair as a third-shift custodian. Responsible for cleaning various areas of the company's buildings.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform custodial duties on nightly job checklist as assigned.
- Be alert to power failure, adverse changes in building temperature, water leaks, etc. and notify the unit leader/manager.
- Limit complaints to 4 per year, this includes but is not limited to recycling and trash containers, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Comply with the preparation of company cleaning solutions and safe use in accordance with company policy and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Participate in meetings and OSHA training as scheduled.
- Maintain awareness and response to security alarms, door issues, and parking lots while on shift.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
- Reasonable hand-and-eye coordination skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry 30 lbs., bend, reach, and stretch to perform manual labor and lift and handle custodial equipment.
- Ability to handle hazardous materials pertinent to the job and read and decipher MSDS and container labels, translating information into procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Basic communication skills, ability to work well with others, and maintain confidential information.
- General computer abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours set by management when needed.
- Effective interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Some previous custodial experience is desired.
- Must be familiar with church operations and maintain respectful behavior toward persons within the target niche.
Because the company’s niche is the church and related ministries market, the role requires familiarity with church operations and a conduct that does not alienate or offend persons in this niche.
