Job Summary

The Maintenance and Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of the facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by performing routine preventive maintenance, responding to repair requests, and supporting the day‑to‑day operational needs of the building and its systems, including inventory, stocking, and ordering of facility supplies.

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting).
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and supply inventory.
• Stock and order facility supplies.
• Clean up leaves and landscaping beds, spray weeds on hard surfaces.

• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general mechanical systems; familiarity with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and building codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams); ability to learn additional software such as work‑order and facilities management systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and general repairs is highly desirable.

• Hands‑on experience in general building maintenance or a related trade.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

This position operates in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, including mechanical rooms, utility areas, production floors, and general building facilities. The work environment changes daily based on the facility’s needs.

• Noise Levels:
  May work in loud environments; hearing protection may be required.
• Temperature Variations:
  Work may be performed in extreme heat or cold, including rooftops and outdoor settings.
• Hazardous Conditions:
  May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, or moving mechanical parts; PPE will be provided and must be worn.
• Heights:
  May work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or aerial lifts.

• Remain in a stationary position for most of the day.
• Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift for extended periods; may lift items up to 50 pounds or more.
