Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team to ensure all manufacturing equipment, systems, and facilities are operating efficiently and safely. This role ensures timely preventive and corrective maintenance, supports production uptime, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor coordinates maintenance schedules, manages resources, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards to support optimal plant performance.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Lead and schedule maintenance technicians, assign work orders, and ensure proper staffing to support production needs.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and technical issues, coordinating timely repairs and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
  • Support planning and budgeting for maintenance resources and capital improvements.
  • Maintain flexibility to work other shifts and weekends as necessary.
Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience
  • 3+ years of experience
Skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems commonly used in automotive manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
  • Proven ability to lead maintenance teams, delegate tasks, manage priorities, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Preferred to have experience in a manufacturing unionized work environment.
