Position OverviewThe Floor Technician is responsible for the regular maintenance and restorative cleaning of various floor types, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for our customers, their employees, and guests. This role requires proficiency in operating a range of floor care equipment and following established safety and cleaning protocols.
Essential Functions- Perform routine and restorative cleaning of various floor types to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Safely operate and maintain floor care equipment, including vacuums, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and scrubbers
- Load, transport, and unload equipment and supplies between vehicles and job sites
- Move and reposition furniture to complete cleaning tasks
- Handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines and regulations
- Utilize mobile devices to document completed work and report issues
- Travel between customer locations within the local area as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
- Ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers with courtesy and respect.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to contribute to the overall team effort including being consistently in uniform and on time.
- Ability to pay close attention to small details.
- Ability to read and write.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping while performing floor care tasks.
- Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and different facility conditions.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40-50 pounds frequently.
- Working knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe handling, use, disposal, and management of floor care chemicals and hazardous waste, including stripping, waxing, and refinishing solutions.
