Job Title

Certified HVAC Technician

Job Summary

The Certified HVAC Technician is responsible for installation, maintenance, calibrations, overhaul, service and repair for HVAC systems in the facility.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
  • Reads blueprints, interprets Manufacturers’ specifications, written and verbal instructions for the maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems.
  • Maintains an awareness of the sensitive and critical uses for the HVAC system being worked on.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on air-conditioning and ventilation systems to maintain air at a specified temperature and humidity. Work orders are completed promptly and accurately.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, calibrating, adjusting, lubricating and repairing or replacing components as necessary.
  • Maintains records to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and accrediting organization regulations and standards.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Maintains equipment inventory, submit requisitions, and communicate with vendors and contractors as required.
  • Operates and maintains facility HVAC systems and equipment, to include but not limited to: AHU’s, fan coil units, split systems, humidifiers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, DX units, Liebert units, and all associated equipment and controls.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 plus years of technical training in air conditioning systems or equal to HVAC certification from an accredited school.
  • 2 plus years of experience in maintenance, repair and installation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and associated components in a commercial setting.
  • Universal certification for refrigerant recovery (EPA).
