Store Maintenance Technician Job Description
This position is responsible for the management of a wide variety of facility maintenance duties throughout a large retail store. The work will involve repairing or replacing equipment used in a retail setting, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other areas as needed. The Store Maintenance Technician will exercise discretionary judgment and analysis in most situations, with general direction given by the Maintenance Technician to outside contractors.

- Manages assigned facilities in a defined area using the company's cloud‑based maintenance management system and phone app.
- Responsible for issuing and responding to work orders from the system.
- Acts as project manager on all work orders.
- Supervises the work of contract labor.
- Ensures policy and procedures are followed by third‑party vendors.
- Keeps management informed of budget issues at assigned locations.
- Maintains records and prepares required reports.
- Determines need and contributes information for purchase of replacement equipment.
- Inspects the work of outside contractors for adherence to plans and specifications.
- Consults with vendors and agencies regarding facility maintenance and environmental issues.
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of acceptable maintenance and repair in all areas of building maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in maintenance of HVAC.
- Knowledge of maintenance and servicing of RTUs.
- Current EPA certification required.
- Knowledge of issues and topical repairs for roofs.
- Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Skill in analyzing a problem and arriving at a reasonable and economical solution.
- Familiar with maintenance management software such as Service Channel or Corrigo; knowledge of Microsoft suite.
- Construction or facilities project management experience desirable.
