Position OverviewPerforms routine, general, custodial and maintenance tasks in the care and cleaning of assigned classrooms, offices and facilities and keeping them in a clean, sanitary and safe condition. Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
Minimum QualificationsThere are no minimum education or experience requirements.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Skill in the use of standard tools and equipment of the profession.
- Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
- Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to operate personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet.
- The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Six months experience in custodial services.
- Clear DMV required if operating a State Vehicle.
- Be able to understand chemical usage and application.
- Be able to use a backpack vacuum or upright vacuum.
- Be able to perform the job mechanics including standing, kneeling, pushing and reaching.
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wash, polish and wax concrete, linoleum, tile and wood floors; vacuum carpets.
- Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Wash and clean windows, walls and chalkboards.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, shower and locker rooms, cafeterias, offices and related facilities.
- Sweep sidewalks, pick up papers and clean drinking fountains.
- Polish metal work.
- Replenish supplies and fill paper and soap dispensers.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Noisy environments.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

-5:30pm Sunday Some nights/weekends/holidays required as needed. This is an essential worker position and irregular work hours may also be required during extreme weather conditions.
