About The Role
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, repair, and operation of Ingram Micro's facilities. This hands‑on role supports building operations through preventive maintenance, repairs, vendor coordination, workspace modifications, and facility improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do- Perform day‑to‑day facility maintenance and repair activities to ensure a safe and functional work environment.
- Conduct general building repairs, including light carpentry, basic electrical work, HVAC troubleshooting, and grounds maintenance.
- Inspect building systems and identify maintenance needs before they become operational issues.
- Estimate labor, materials, and repair costs for facility projects and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to complete repairs and facility‑related projects.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure work complies with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Assist with office moves, workstation installations, furniture assembly, and workspace reconfigurations.
- Support facility planning and improvement projects, including renovations and space utilization initiatives.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and facility documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and support sustainability initiatives.
- Respond to facility‑related service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding facility concerns and maintenance issues.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or related experience, OR
- Associate degree (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years of facilities maintenance or facility operations experience.
- Experience performing maintenance in one or more skilled trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or general building maintenance.
- Experience working with third‑party vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and building maintenance procedures.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment, furniture, and supplies as required.
- Experience supporting office, warehouse, distribution center, or commercial facilities.
- Technical certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, facilities maintenance, or related trades.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or work‑order management software.
- Knowledge of space planning, facility improvement projects, and office renovations.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and energy conservation practices.
- Hands‑on approach with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
- Strong customer service mindset and sense of urgency.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to facility needs.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to build relationships with employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workplace environment.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $49,500.00 – $79,200.00 per year. The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
