Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing general cleaning and upkeeping of the manufacturing plant. Janitors are responsible for cleaning common areas of the manufacturing plant, such as breakrooms, restrooms, and conference rooms. Janitors must have strong organizational skills to ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stored neatly and according to safety practices. Janitors are also responsible for notifying Maintenance Technicians and/or the Facility Manager of resupply orders that are needed.
Janitors may perform other tasks as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean common areas of the manufacturing plant
- Ensure supplies are stored neatly and according to safety rules
- Notify maintenance of resupply orders as needed
- Assist maintenance with general upkeep of the facility
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager
Minimum Experience and
Education:
- High School or GED
- 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of safety practices for storing cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Mechanically inclined; ability to work with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 th of an inch
- Ability to add and subtract fractions
- Communicates well with others; asks for and offers help when needed
- Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work
- Capable of working independently and as a member of a team; contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Observes and follows safety procedures
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Manufacturing Environment – may cause exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust or moving
mechanical parts - Medium to Heavy Work – requires the ability to exert up to 100 lbs. with team or mechanical assistance, requires the ability to individually exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 35 lbs. of force
frequently, and/or exert up to 15 lbs. of force constantly to lift, move, push, or pull objects and materials - Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel materials and equipment

- Required to walk, see close and at distance, and talk and hear
