ACV Auctions is seeking a passionate Inspector with a deep appreciation for cars and a commitment to excellence. Inspectors are the face of our company, delivering unmatched knowledge and service to our clients.

• Support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to conduct vehicle inspections at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations for damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit detailed vehicle condition reports, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help the sales team up‑sell or cross‑sell services and products.
• Maintain regular communication with dealers to ensure satisfaction and build strong relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, write condition reports, and list vehicles on the auction platform.
• Take comprehensive photos of the vehicle, match them to the vehicle, and upload them to the company image server using an issued smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Set up independent dealerships as buyers on the ACV Auctions digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, and mechanical repair) with a customer‑service background.
• Strong reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of English.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions for extended periods.
• Problem‑solving skills and innovative approach to challenges.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and a personally registered and insured motor vehicle.
• Familiarity with system capabilities, relevant software packages, and web‑based applications.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting at least 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Vision required to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Compensation
:
The compensation range for this position is displayed in the “Job Details” section of the posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors permitted by law.
