Light Equipment Operator

We are looking for a team member to join the Franklin County Fiscal Court Road Department
. The successful candidate(s) will operate light automotive and power equipment as well as to perform a variety of laborer functions.

• Operates light automotive and power equipment including, but not limited to: power mower, light tractor, gravel loader, light roller, dump truck, lightweight truck, spreader box.
• Runs compressor to operate various power tools.
• Cleans vehicles and performs minor maintenance.
• Serves as flagger during maintenance activities.
• Assist with snow removal

• High school diploma or GED, and,
• 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Required to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) within the first twelve (12) months from the date of hire. (Provided by the Department).
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays during special projects and/or in emergency or disaster situations

Highly repetitive, highly physical. Highly repetitive type work which requires the concentrated and non-diversified physical demands of the employee. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.

Outside working environment, wherein there are extremely disagreeable working conditions most of the time (Ex. Hot mix paving in constant sun).
