Position: Permanent District Substitute Teacher

Permanent District Substitute

Provide for a safe, effective learning environment which promotes the educational and social growth of all students within the classroom. Starting Rate:
Sub-license - $34,372.04 Teaching License - $54,000 Benefits:

Role and Responsibilities /

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create an environment where students feel welcome and respected
  • Confer with other staff members to get support or questions answered
  • Follow substitute plans from teacher
  • Communicate with building administrators any questions or concerns
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods
  • Support the established objectives for all lessons and projects and communicate those objectives to students
  • Support the established rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students
  • Leave notes for teacher about students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
  • Provide feedback for student improvement on assigned class work and homework
  • Use computers and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations
  • Lead activities designed by teachers to promote physical, mental, and social development
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage
  • Administer standardized tests
  • Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position

Qualifications and

Education Requirements:

  • Sub License (not short term)

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility within the instructional area and throughout the school facility, visual acuity close/distance/depth perception, hearing to receive information, verbal to exchange information. Physical demands often include walking, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping reaching forward, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing and pulling

Environmental Conditions:

  • Indoor climate-controlled school environment and may include being outdoors for extended periods of time throughout the year

Examples of Equipment/Supplies Used to Perform Tasks:

  • Technology such as computer and Smart Board, office supplies
