Adult and Teen Services Librarian

Franklin Park Public Library District is seeking a talented and outgoing library professional to fill the position of Adult & Teen Services Librarian. The ideal candidate should display an unwavering commitment to public service while being a self-starter, a quick learner, and a team player. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

The Adult & Teen Services Department provides reference, reader’s advisory, outreach, collection development, and programming services. You will join a talented team of library professionals in maintaining the Library’s enduring commitment to the highest quality of service to the Franklin Park community.

Job Duties
:
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plans and presents programs and events for adults and teens.
• Provides reference, reader’s advisory, and technology help at the Information Desk.
• Participates in community outreach events.
• Develops and maintains select areas of adult and teen collections.
• Keeps current on library trends and participates in professional development including meetings, webinars, and continuing education.
• Acts as Librarian in Charge when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
:
Master of Library and Information Science degree. Some experience with public library services for adults and teens preferred. Consideration will be made for students in the last semester of graduate school.

37.5 hours per week. Day and evening shifts, Monday through Friday, including a monthly Saturday rotation.
