Student Data Specialist
12 month position, Administration Center

Position Summary/

Purpose:

Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

Position Type: Full-Time Starting Rate: $27+ per hour(Based on Experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Student Information System (SIS) coordinator

• Work closely with school office and administration staff, special education teachers, media specialists, and learning coaches to support the district mission

• Confidential and high integrity management of district student information database system

• Accurate importing and exporting of student data

• Create and prepare reports, and performs data transfers to meet organization, local, state, and federal requirements

• Provide database server platform support to meet compliance requirements

JOB SUMMARY
  • Manage staff and student accounts, and data within the student database
  • Run, upload, review, and correct as needed State Reports on a scheduled basis (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Import assessment scores and other mass batch data into the student database
  • Export student data to government, assessment, analytics, and web-based subscription sites
  • Manage account setup for staff and students on web-based subscription sites
  • Create custom reports using SQL and HTML
  • Perform Start of Year, End of Year, and scheduling database processes
  • Evaluate, schedule, post and maintain custom reports originating from administrators and teaching staff
  • Coordinate and collaborate with each district school main office staff for all district database interactions
  • Manage database server updates and upgrades
  • Provide database training to school office staff and administrators
  • Troubleshoot and work with database product support to resolve technical issues
  • Participate in database user groups sharing expertise and helping resolve data import and export problems
  • Provide flexible support as needed by department staff including device imaging, configuration, and system troubleshooting
  • Manage various educational subscriptions, including Clever, ensuring proper integration, data synchronization, and account management for students and staff.
  • Update school webpages
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent documentation and data organization skills
  • Strong MS Word and MS Excel or equivalent spreadsheet skills, including Mail Merge with conditional functions
  • Excellent inter-personal communication and collaboration skills across all district staff levels
  • Experienced with providing instruction and training to individuals and groups (Database Subject Matter Expert)
  • Required to accept issue ownership, determine task prioritization, and provide action and data accountability
  • Preferred working knowledge of Power School Administrator screens, procedures, data table manipulations
  • Preferred working knowledge of Power School Power Teacher, Gradebook, Report Works, Power Scheduler
  • Preferred working knowledge writing custom SQL searches to export template-based multi-table data sets
  • Preferred working knowledge of HTML Power School customization (including embedded SQL queries)

Working conditions / Environment: Physical Demands:walk, bend, twist at neck and trunk, squat, stoop, reach above head, reach forward, lift up to 25 pounds unassisted, pushing and pulling, visually acuity close/distance/depth perception, hearing to receive information, verbal to exchange information, sitting for prolonged periods of time.?

Environmental Conditions: indoor climate controlled setting, travel between facilities within the school district
