Material Handler

Pay Rate: $22.16/hour
Shift: Open to any shift
2nd
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (+$0.75/hr)
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (+$1.25/hr)
The Material Handler I is responsible for the movement and flow of raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods within the Thermoforming department. This role plays a key part in keeping production running efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, organization, and quality.
Responsibilities- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
- Perform roll splice operations
- Change and empty Gaylords and transport them to staging areas
- Inspect regrind material for contamination and ensure proper labeling
- Drain cyclones and socks to prevent material backup
- Stage rolls into roll carts and maintain proper material flow
- Operate forklifts, tugs, and pallet jacks safely
- Demonstrate knowledge of raw material types and handling procedures
- Follow all plant safety rules and guidelines
- Work closely with team members to meet production demands
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
- Can sit or stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
- Willing to wear steel‑toe footwear
- Experience in manufacturing (food, paper, plastic, or metal preferred)
- Forklift experience in a manufacturing setting (2–3 years preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Reliable and able to work overtime or weekends as needed
