About the roleThe Manufacturing Engineer II is located out of our Franklin Park, IL location and reports to the Manager Value Stream I, Tool Room. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes to produce the company’s product lines economically and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Develop the entire CNC machining processes for parts, including the creation of setup sheets, tool preset drawings, tool holder selection, and cutting tool selection.
- Program 2 & 3 Axis CNC Equipment – write new programs from scratch to produce new parts.
- Troubleshoot CNC machining tolerance, program, and setup issues and address other manufacturing‑quality related issues with setup and operators on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure continuous process improvement tracked by quality yields and standard labor costs.
- Analyze, review, and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using LEAN manufacturing techniques.
- Determine and establish overall manufacturing engineering requirements for items such as machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods and processes, and routings.
- Prepare routings, process sheets, work instructions, and process drawings; establish feeds, speeds, cycle times and other operating parameters for all types of equipment.
- Train supervisors, group leaders, and operators on new processes or products.
- Identify and mitigate safety hazards throughout the facility.

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years manufacturing experience.
- 5+ years manufacturing/industrial engineering experience.
- 5+ years CNC programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Problem‑solving skills related to production processes and equipment.
- Critical thinking and analytical proficiency.
- Demonstrates clear, professional, and respectful verbal and written communication in all interactions, consistent with an inclusive work environment.
- Ability to collaborate with co‑workers, production personnel, and outside vendors.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- CNC Programming certificate.
- Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Advanced measuring and metrology skills.
- General experience with SAP ERP Business System.
Compensation range (U.S. – based): $96,549.60 – $ annually. The position is eligible to participate in the company incentive plan. Final agreed compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.
