Responsibilities
- Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Develop, review, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and control plans.
- Ensure document control and record retention requirements are met.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Develop and implement inspection methods for fabricated, welded, machined, and assembled products.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, contracts, and quality requirements.
- Establish acceptance criteria and inspection standards.
- Monitor production quality metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and production part approvals.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on scrap reduction, process capability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve quality performance.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with fabrication personnel to improve process consistency and product quality.
- Serve as a quality liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Investigate customer complaints and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations.
- Review supplier quality documentation and inspection reports.
- Participate in customer quality meetings and audits as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and fabrication industry experience will be considered
- 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a fabrication, metal manufacturing, welding, or industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting fabricated weldments, sheet metal, structural steel, or custom manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies
