Salary & Compensation:
Up to $26.00/hour + Guaranteed Overtime (10+ Hours of OT Weekly!)
Schedule & Shift: Enjoy every Friday off! This unique schedule provides consistent hours, steady overtime pay, and a dedicated 3-day mid-week break from the traditional weekend rush.
- Monday: 1:00 AM – 7:00 AM (5.5 hours, 30-min lunch)
- Tuesday – Thursday: 9:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Friday: OFF
- Saturday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Description
As an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician, you will gain hands-on experience keeping our high-speed food production facility running safely and efficiently. Your time will be split between mechanical troubleshooting (70%) and electrical systems (30%). This is the perfect environment to apply your schooling, sharpen your technical skills, and master industrial maintenance under the mentorship of seasoned technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting on high-speed packaging and food processing machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical components, including 3-phase power and electrical panels up to 480V.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to identify root causes of equipment issues.
- Work with industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, and blenders.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and plant safety standards.
- Document maintenance repairs and collaborate closely with production teams to minimize machine downtime.
Qualifications & Skills Needed
- Experience:
6+ months of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. - Education:
Trade school education or technical certification in industrial electricity, advanced manufacturing, welding, or industrial maintenance (schooling from institutions like Coyne College is highly preferred!). - Technical Aptitude:
Foundational knowledge of electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. - Skill Set:
Ability to read blueprints/schematics, use basic hand/power tools, and pass a basic technical maintenance test. - Reliability:
Commitment to working the assigned shift, including mandatory weekly overtime and weekend hours.
Work Environment
This role operates on-site at a large, state-of-the-art food processing facility with over 400 employees. You will work extensively around high-speed packaging equipment, industrial freezers, and automated machinery. Because we process food products, we strictly adhere to top-tier hygiene, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FRANKLIN PARK, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
