Job Overview

Supports Savers vision by assisting drivers to properly unload donations onto carts in the warehouse, separating soft and hard goods, large items and furniture, weighing carts, organizing full carts in the warehouse, accurately completing route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks, loading trailers according to specific Savers guidelines, continuously recording product weights and type while loading trailers, assist with daily counting and entry of Stock on Hand, and assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores.

Job Functions
  • Safely maneuver and operate a tractor trailer truck through city streets and tight spaces
  • Complete daily store swaps of full trailers for empty
  • Complete all required daily paperwork including vehicle inspection, trailer inspections, and maintenance forms
  • Assist other drivers with workload when needed
  • Responsible for ensuring that trucks are clean and ready for use at the start of another shift
  • Checks vehicles to ensure proper safety and work conditions are in compliance with Savers policies and State/DOT laws
  • Employment is conditional on receiving a DOT Medical Card, passing a pre-employment drug screen as well as having a Motor Vehicle Report without any violations or accidents within the last 3 years
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the assigned metro areas
  • Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, state and Savers safety regulations and requirements

  • Must have prior driving experience, excellent knowledge of the roads in assigned area

  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines with flexibility, and multi‑task with minimal direction

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience
  • CDL Class A required to be considered for this position
  • Doubles/Triples endorsement
  • 2–3 years’ experience driving a tractor trailer truck
  • 3–5 years clean driving record
  • Forklift experience is a plus
Physical & Age Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to pull or push a pallet jack
  • Ability to stand frequently throughout the day
  • Able and willing to safely, cautiously, and efficiently navigate work environment that may include large industrial machinery, heavy equipment and product, elevated and uneven surfaces, and heights, and moving forklifts
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
