Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical role in our warehouse operations, leading day-to-day activities and fostering a safe, productive, and engaging environment for our team. The position is responsible for driving performance across key areas such as inbound returns, order picking, sorting, and outbound shipping, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise associates to pick merchandise and consolidate orders, pack orders, or ship packages direct to consumers and retail customers.
- Supervise secondary production functions such as returns, return‑to‑vendor processes, make‑ready/audit functions, etc.
- Implement optimal staffing mix during assigned shifts in partnership with production/wave planning office.
- Supervise e‑commerce and retail warehouse operations (B2C, B2B).
- Monitor warehouse lines to ensure goods flow properly within the facility and communicate best practices for conveying goods to associates and upstream/downstream departments.
- Maintain accurate records of processed merchandise, packages, shipments, gift packaging, tracking numbers, and associate productivity; prepare daily reports for management and provide feedback to associates.
- Maintain high quality and productivity standards by providing continuous direction, training, and motivation to hourly associates (up to 75% time on the warehouse floor).
- Coach and develop warehouse leads in day‑to‑day motivation and support of hourly order processors.
- Ensure on‑time order processing and warehouse service level promises to customers remain critical.
- Present problem analysis of operational issues to the inbound/outbound manager and recommend solutions creatively and logically.
- Be solution‑oriented and routinely make recommendations for continuous improvement within the site.
- Exercise autonomy to make operational decisions on the fly to keep building plans on track and support the business.
- Assign work, meet completion dates, interpret and ensure consistent application of organization policies and communications.
- Plan and use independent discretion to organize day‑to‑day operations activities/objectives in partnership with the warehouse area.
- Communicate with, follow up with, and support associates in a timely manner.
- Leverage various systems in the facility to generate reports, understand trends, identify potential road blocks, and execute plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Monitor hourly/daily reporting and escalate concerns when needed.
- Learn, understand, and regularly execute tasks related to facility software programs such as ERP and WMS.
- Follow established safety and security standards; model, coach, and hold associates accountable.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment; ensure equipment is functional and associates have necessary tools.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business is preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in distribution operations.
- Minimum of 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred).
- Self‑starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve challenging objectives with limited supervision.
- Able to openly communicate across all management levels, customers and vendors.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment (accuracy, timeliness, reliability, adaptability, and responsiveness).
- Customer‑focused with strong data and analytical skills.
- Proven track record and experience in planning and continuous improvement.
- Results‑oriented professional capable of solving problems and implementing change.
- Potential to grow into positions of increasing responsibility based on results and capabilities.
