As a Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA), you will learn to combine electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills at the workplace. During on-the-job learning (OJL), you will work with complex high-performance manufacturing systems and will learn to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems to maintain process efficiency. Your role will focus on ensuring safety regulations and policies are adhered to, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, conducting preventative maintenance on time, and providing high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

You will be paired with journey workers at various facilities, including high automation and robotics facilities in connection with service operations. You will be expected to work based on technical documents and instructions and carry out your work in compliance with the relevant provisions and safety regulations.

You should be an effective communicator, work well in a team, and be self‑motivated. You must be able to work collaboratively and coordinate your activities with upstream and downstream operations partners. In addition to developing your skills, you will be mentored by senior technicians in order to grow in your role.

• Flexible to relocate after completion of the program
• Able to enroll in and attend a 9‑week training at one of five designated training providers (Location to be assigned post‑interview)
• Meet the minimum qualifying score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test

• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance of conveyance equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
• Conduct maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all material handling equipment components.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photoeyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachs, etc.
• Be able to move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.

• Associate of Science degree or 4+ years of military experience
• High School Diploma
• 1+ year of PC software experience including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing operational items
• Knowledge of mathematics
• Experience reading measurements and interpreting them
• Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays

• Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE)
• Experience implementing safety standards
• Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics

Starting pay includes base rate plus highest available shift differential, with potential for overtime and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on shift selection and location.
