Maintenance Manager
Franklin, IN | Full-Time | Direct Hire
First Call Direct Hire is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Manager for a well-established manufacturing company in Franklin, Indiana. This position will lead the Maintenance Department with responsibility for equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, machine uptime, facility maintenance, team development, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
- Coach, develop, and manage Maintenance Supervisors and team members.
- Improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned machine downtime.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, machine repair, and equipment rebuilds.
- Track downtime and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments.
- Determine staffing needs and manage maintenance coverage and overtime.
- Manage departmental goals, performance metrics, and operating budget.
- Oversee facility maintenance and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Previous manufacturing maintenance leadership experience.
- 5 years of cross-functional maintenance management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Management, Business, or related field preferred; 4–6 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and downtime reduction.
- Experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
