Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 12-Month Position

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Education Required: High School Diploma or GED

The Maintenance Technician supports the daily operation, safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the school campus by performing general maintenance, custodial support, grounds upkeep, and facility-related tasks. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment for students, staff, families, and visitors across both the K–12 campus and Early Learning Center.

Key Responsibilities Campus Opening & Daily Operations
  • Open campus gates each morning.
  • Turn on lights and open hall gates each morning for the school day (K–12 building).
  • Remove trash and debris from the front of the school building each morning.
  • Assist with afternoon car line duty.
  • Cafeteria cleanup and teardown daily.
  • Take trash to dumpsters each day.
Maintenance & Facility Support
  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance to school buildings and grounds as skill set allows.
  • Utilize the school’s electronic ticketing system for non-urgent maintenance requests.
  • Be on call during normal operating hours for maintenance needs at both the ELC and K–12 campuses.
  • Assemble classroom and office furniture or equipment purchased by the school.
  • Assist with large deliveries arriving on campus.
  • Monitor campus facilities and promptly alert the supervisor of maintenance or safety concerns indoors and outdoors.
Equipment & Supply Management
  • Order cleaning and maintenance supplies regularly.
  • Change kitchen air filters as needed.
  • Add salt to the water softener system as needed.
  • Run errands to local supply vendors as necessary (e.g., Lowe’s, Carr Supply, Denny Lumber, etc.).
  • Help coordinate repairs and facility services with outside vendors, including HVAC, pest control, boiler, elevator, and cleaning companies.
  • Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow plowing and sidewalk clearing as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond promptly to campus needs.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and service-oriented.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies as required.
Additional Working Conditions May Include
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and carrying.
  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  • Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 40 pounds (100 pounds on wheels) such as paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment, etc.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
