- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Fairview Recreation Complex by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and emptying trash throughout the facility.
- Clean, sanitize, stock, and maintain restrooms, locker rooms, and other public areas.
- Prepare, set up, and break down rooms and equipment for programs, meetings, rentals, and special events.
- Perform general grounds maintenance, including keeping parking lots and outdoor areas clean and free of debris.
- Operate and maintain custodial equipment and safely use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
- Perform routine facility maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, changing ceiling tiles, and reporting major repair needs.
- Clean windows, mirrors, walls, furniture, and other facility fixtures as needed.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of custodial supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Provide excellent customer service while assisting with the general operation and supervision of the facility.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License required.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day and evening shifts with occasional weekends.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of facility maintenance and custodial practices.
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and basic machinery.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism.
- General knowledge of Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, and amenities is a plus.
This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Employees must be able to:
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Operate cleaning equipment and hand tools.
- Work from ladders when necessary.
- Perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
