Summary / ObjectiveIn keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the Director of Maintenance plays a critical role in maintaining all physical plant assets on the property. The director manages the day‑to‑day operations of the maintenance department.
Essential Functions- Responsible for all service and repair tasks as assigned.
- Operates the maintenance department in a safe manner by ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and following established policies and procedures.
- Ensures the physical building meets all safety and building codes.
- Schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside the scope of routine maintenance.
- Assists in emergency situations related to the physical plant and acts as the facility’s safety officer.
- Ensures that regular equipment and systems maintenance schedules are monitored and followed at all times.
- Works with department heads to ensure routine maintenance in resident care areas does not interfere with the care or safety of residents.
- Responsible for operating the maintenance department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
- Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
- Responsible for training and educating staff members.
- Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience working in a building maintenance capacity
Education and Experience
- 5 years of experience in a facilities maintenance role
- Associate’s degree in construction technology or a similar field
