Director of Maintenance

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the Director of Maintenance plays a critical role in maintaining all physical plant assets on the property. The director manages the day‑to‑day operations of the maintenance department.

• Responsible for all service and repair tasks as assigned.
• Operates the maintenance department in a safe manner by ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and following established policies and procedures.
• Ensures the physical building meets all safety and building codes.
• Schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies outside the scope of routine maintenance.
• Assists in emergency situations related to the physical plant and acts as the facility’s safety officer.
• Ensures that regular equipment and systems maintenance schedules are monitored and followed at all times.
• Works with department heads to ensure routine maintenance in resident care areas does not interfere with the care or safety of residents.
• Responsible for operating the maintenance department within budgetary guidelines and limitations.
• Completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff. Provides guidance and education to staff in regards to their performance.
• Responsible for training and educating staff members.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of experience working in a building maintenance capacity

• 5 years of experience in a facilities maintenance role
• Associate’s degree in construction technology or a similar field
