Maintenance Technician

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will perform a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, supporting the achievement of business goals and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and operator information to diagnose equipment problems.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Disassemble equipment to remove parts for repair and reassemble after maintenance.
• Examine parts for defects and observe/test operation to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Operate newly repaired machinery to verify adequacy of repairs.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (planned and unplanned) on industrial production and processing machinery, including hydraulic/pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, VFD/HMI/Servo controls, conveyors, printers, valves, photo eyes, switches, heat exchangers, and level controls.
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components and consult blueprints or manufacturer manuals as needed.
• Operate and support industrial refrigeration, boiler, and utility operations.
• Cut, weld, fabricate, and assemble metal parts and equipment.
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
• Enter codes and instructions to program computer‑controlled machinery.
• Respond to production needs on the production floor and maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and task records in SAP or other MIS/ERP systems.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, federal, state, local safety regulations, SQF, GMP, 5S guidelines, and the Saputo code of ethics.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers and other department personnel and perform other duties as requested.

• 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boilers, and utility systems.
• Proficiency in computer‑based maintenance planning/PM ERP platforms (SAP is a plus).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Mechanical skills complemented by electrical foundations; experience with computerized controls and reading electrical schematics is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, able to work fast‑paced environments.
• Availability for any shift, overtime, and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professionalism and positive representation of Saputo.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted, stand/walk/bend, and work in varying temperature/humidity conditions.
• Experience working with chemicals, PPE, and approved handling procedures.

$32.27 to $37.82 per hour (plus shift differential), with an increase after six months.
