Title: OPERATIONS LEADER
Salary: $1.00-per-hour stipend in addition to the incumbent’s current hourly rate
Reports To: Director of Operations, Maintenance & Transportation
Qualifications- Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to read and understand basic operating instructions and communicate effectively in writing.
- Demonstrates good health and personal hygiene.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses basic computer skills.
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.
- Certificate, license, or equivalent experience in a specific skilled trade is desirable.
- Grounds maintenance experience is preferred.
- Must currently serve as a head custodian and have a minimum of five years of custodial experience.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
To assist the Director of Operations, Maintenance & Transportation and the Transportation Supervisor with daily departmental activities, facility operations, staff development, product ordering, scheduling, training, and other operational responsibilities as assigned.
Assigned Responsibilities- Ordering:
Assist the Director of Operations, Maintenance & Transportation and the Transportation Supervisor with weekly product ordering, reviewing orders, approving orders as authorized, and monitoring departmental supply needs. - Scheduling:
Assist with developing and coordinating summer cleaning schedules, substitute custodian assignments, including call-in schedules, employee vacation schedules, and other departmental staffing needs. - Training:
Assist with the orientation and training of substitute and full-time custodians, including departmental procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and cleaning expectations. - Operational Support:
Respond to routine operational questions and assist with the coordination of daily custodial and facility-related tasks. - Communication:
Help communicate schedules, assignments, procedures, and departmental expectations to custodial staff. - Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations, Maintenance & Transportation.
In accordance with the negotiated contract. The regular workweek is Monday through Friday, with additional hours or schedule adjustments as required.
