The Engineering Tech II shall monitor and inspect buildings, associated building components, and infrastructure for life‑cycle management, submit and track service orders and work orders from initiation to completion, perform various inspections utilizing prescribed checklists, and assist with supplemental cleaning and associated tasks as applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct various tasks to include the inspection of life, health & safety equipment including fire extinguishers, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) & AED pads (Expiration Date), and eye wash stations.
- Conduct comprehensive building inspections.
- Serve as the Fire Monitor in all DEVCOM-CBC buildings to resolve deficiencies identified by the APG Garrison Fire Department (APG FD) Fire Chief and work directly with the APG FD Fire Inspector.
- Monitor areas for restocking and resupply.
- Coordinate with Project Engineer to assist with project support and contractor escorting.
- Perform snow removal and spill cleanup as needed.
- Support after‑hours emergency response to weather or facility‑related issues with 24‑hour coverage, including off hours, weekends, and holidays ("On‑Call").
- Provide emergency response for floods, mold remediation, bodily fluid clean‑up, and general housekeeping.
- Follow all internal and external procedures.
- Monitor and police the surrounding exterior grounds up to 50 feet from the building.
- Work with and assist building occupants to identify and resolve concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and presentable appearance of facilities for the customer.
- Follow directions from the Contractor Supervisor and COR while working independently and as a team.
- Support customer schedules in scheduling repairs and annual requirements.
- Maintain records for accountability and to audit standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service both to internal and external customers while working collaboratively to build professional relationships.
- Identify safety concerns to the Supervisor and other required stakeholders (DOD, ARMY, OSHA, ANSI, other industries identified).
- Assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to the COR when requested.
- Provide and assist with the required monthly data to the Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters.
- Ensure all administrative functions and paperwork are in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork and are accomplished on time and in the required format.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and be attentive to detail.
- Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field, one (1) year or more of facility management experience, and possession of an active Class C Driver's License.
- High School Diploma, five (5) years or more of facility management experience, possession of an active IFMA Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certification, and an active Class C Driver's License.
- High School Diploma, ten (10) or more years of commercial or industrial facility management experience, and possession of an active Class C Driver's License.
- The work of this position is performed in both an environmentally controlled office interior and building settings and sometimes outdoors, where you are subject to the environment.
- This position is primarily mobile while walking throughout numerous buildings, office settings, labs, and outdoor emergency response, building monitoring and inspections.
- Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to view a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and work in both bending and standing positions for extended periods of time and all types of weather.
