Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic, Building Maintenance

Capstone is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Lead for a multifamily community in Fredericksburg, TX.

HVAC experience and certification are a top priority for this position. We are looking for someone who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems while also handling plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, make-readies, preventive maintenance, and general property maintenance.

The Maintenance Lead will take ownership of the community's day-to-day maintenance operations, including work orders, unit turns, preventive maintenance, property inspections, inventory and supplies, vendor coordination, pool maintenance, and emergency response.

This position works closely with the Community Manager to identify property needs, resolve maintenance issues efficiently, minimize unnecessary vendor expenses, and maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning community.

• HVAC certification and strong hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience strongly preferred
• CPO certification and/or equivalent pool maintenance experience preferred
• Multifamily maintenance experience required; lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance
• Experience with apartment make-readies and unit turns
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safety practices
• Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple work orders
• Dependable, organized, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Professional communication with residents, vendors, and management
• Ability to perform physical maintenance duties and work indoors/outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Availability for on-call and after-hours emergency response as needed
