We are looking for an expert resource as an Electrical Technologist Lead to support the Light Hydrocarbons 8 facility in Oyster Creek, Texas.
You possess advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. You are an expert in your electrical field, a team player, have good prioritization and organizational skills, and demonstrate competencies in the areas of: leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness.
You may act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others. You seek new solutions to old challenges where value may be added. You provide strong proactive interface with Operations and Maintenance. You provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. You maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work
- Must be the Subject Matter Expert and able to assist Planner and Scheduler with technical details and timing for electrical outages
- Supports daily maintenance through: specification, requisition, and installing parts and equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis. Coordinates maintenance spare parts
- Working with vendors to get quotes for onsite services
- Working with scheduler to bring in Dow Line Crew
- Switching high voltage transmission lines and sends notifications on transfers
- Addresses electrical findings from Electrical Safety and Reliability Assessment. Facilitates Electrical Work Process audits.
- Dow Electrical safe Work Practice focal point for Zone
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant industrial electrical experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and Knowledge of the Inter National Electrical Testing Association (NETA) testing specifications
- Must meet one or more of the following:
- An Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation & Electrical
- 3 years or more of relevant military training/experience AND a High School Diploma
- 7+ years of relevant experience AND a High School Diploma/GED
Your preferred qualifications include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel
- Working SAP knowledge - Can view work order and lend expertise in developing job scope, determine current stock levels of spare parts and order what is necessary, ensure proper specifications on parts are assigned to bill of material (BOM), mark work order as technically complete (TECO)
- Prior experience with Transformers and Electrical Distribution

- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground

- Occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs singularly
