Title:
On-Call Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
OverviewThis on‑call role is required from 10:00pm to 6:30am, with compensation of $18.25 per hour.
Responsibilities- Perform janitorial duties as outlined in the daily schedule
- Handle hazardous waste, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor
- Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Address risk behaviors of self and others
- Collaborate with teammates to complete work assignments
- Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a clean work area
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
- Respond to direction and supervision
- Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers
- Fill in during staff shortages and aid shift leads with punch‑list items
- Use proper personal protective equipment
- Present a professional appearance and conduct
Education and Experience: No specific education requirement. 3–6 months of training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license may be required. Completion of all safety and task training certifications is required. Forklift certification may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bilingual a plus
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and willingness to share with the team
- Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
