Role Description The Day Porter Lead is a full-time, on-site position located in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing daily cleaning and maintenance activities, ensuring that facilities, common areas, and restrooms remain clean, safe, and presentable throughout the workday. The Day Porter Lead assigns and monitors tasks, checks the quality of work performed by day porters, and communicates with building management or clients regarding needs, issues, and schedules.
Daily duties include light janitorial work, restocking supplies, responding to service requests, reporting maintenance concerns, and maintaining organized storage areas and equipment. This role also involves training new team members on standards and procedures, promoting safety practices, and maintaining clear documentation of work performed.
Qualifications
- Experience in janitorial, porter, or facilities maintenance roles, preferably in commercial or multi-tenant buildings.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate tasks, guide team members, and uphold service standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, building occupants, and coworkers in a professional manner.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting moderate weights, and operating basic cleaning equipment safely.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and appearance of facilities throughout the workday.
- Basic organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple service requests and complete tasks efficiently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following company procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a lead or supervisor is beneficial.
