Facilities Maintenance Manager
IMG - Altair, an Ichor Company, has an immediate opening for a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Manager in Fremont, CA. This hands-on role supervises a small maintenance team and is responsible for equipment maintenance, facility infrastructure, and production support systems with a focus on reliability, safety, quality, and uptime. The Maintenance manager will manage contractors and vendors, drive CMMS utilization, establish preventative and predictive maintenance programs that support production growth and customer commitments.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
- Maintain and troubleshoot thermal processing and production equipment, including:
- Ipsen High-Temperature Vacuum Furnaces
- TAV and PVT Aluminum Vacuum Braze Furnaces
- Camco Dry Hydrogen Brazing Furnaces
- Sauder Double Bake-Out Furnaces
- Hydrogen and Nitrogen Generators
- Cooling Towers
- Machine Shop Equipment
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment shutdowns, installations, and projects in coordination with Operations.
- Manage CMMS work orders, equipment records, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to improve uptime, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage contractors, vendors, spare parts, purchasing, and maintenance budgets.
- Interact with various departments throughout the organization to identify and find solutions for facilities issues.
- Assess facility conditions and coordinate repairs and improvements.
- Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, safety, building code regulations, and quality requirements.
- Develop maintenance team skills and identify training needs.
- Track and report maintenance performance, including unplanned downtime and preventive maintenance completion.
- Develop emergency response and business continuity plans.
- 7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years supervisory experience or team leadership experience.
- Ability to complete assignments given in the form of objective with no defined processes.
- Advanced time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MSOffice programs and ERP systems, GSS preferred.
- Strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing systems, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and prioritize repairs.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience with vacuum furnaces, brazing, cooling water systems, cryogenics, high-pressure gases, helium leak detection, or aerospace/defense manufacturing.
- Experience with CMMS, preventative/predictive maintenance, work order management, and equipment documentation.
- Ability to interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience with root cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, or structured downtime reduction.
- Strong leadership, coaching, employee development, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance/ERP systems;
Global Shop experience is preferred. - Ability to establish processes, prioritize work, allocate resources, and execute objectives in environments where procedures may not yet be defined.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
- 7+ years of facilities maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Experience managing maintenance programs, facility infrastructure, capital projects, contractors, and budgets.
- Aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting CNC manufacturing operations.
- IFMA FMP or CFM, BOMI, or PMP certification
- Experience with CMMS, AS9100, ISO 9001, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical field preferred or equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch, twist.
- Ability to visually inspect equipment, parts and read precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment around industrial equipment and related hazards.
- Exposure to manufacturing setting includes dust, machine noise, coolants, and temperature variations.
- Areas of the manufacturing site require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Work performed in accordance with AS9011, ISO
9001;2015, applicable NADCAP requirements, and company quality standards.
