Compensation- $16.46 - $18.02 per hour, depending on experience.
- If bilingual in English/Spanish, starting range is $18.02 - $19.90 per hour.

Full Time, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift.
Qualifications- High school graduate or GED, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Certification:
None required;
First Aid/CPR certification desired. - Experience:
Some custodial experience is preferred. - Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, buffers and other janitorial equipment.
- Capability to make minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including manuals and instruction materials.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and co‑workers.
- Physical capability to perform heavy manual work.
- Clean and perform minor maintenance of an assigned elementary school building, facilities, and grounds.
- Operate janitorial equipment and perform sweeping, vacuuming, waxing, mopping, dusting, and washing walls and windows.
- Collect and remove trash, replenish restroom supplies, and unclog sinks and toilets.
- Change light bulbs, tubes, and ballasts; repair lockers, doors, windows, and fixtures; paint interior and exterior surfaces.
- Move and set up furniture and equipment for classrooms and gymnasium; take down and store equipment.
- Maintain building grounds: remove snow and ice, clear leaves and trash, cut and trim grass.
- Unlock and lock the building according to established policies and schedules.
- Check and replace filters; monitor and adjust heating and ventilation equipment.
- Pickup and deliver supplies as needed.
- May direct and supervise the work of the Elementary Building Custodian I.
- Perform related work as required to support school operations.
Includes standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and driving as needed.
Daily lifting of up to 55 lbs from floor to waist and up to 30 lbs from waist to shoulder; carrying up to 100 ft.
Working ConditionsWork is primarily indoors in a heated/air‑conditioned building, but may be performed outdoors during inclement weather. Hazards include communicable diseases, classroom use, building equipment, and janitorial supplies.
