We are looking for an enthusiastic Inspector to help clients understand vehicle conditions and facilitate sales on our platform.

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to conduct inspections at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease sites.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up‑sell or cross‑sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with our dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, write condition reports, and list vehicles for sale on the auction platform.
• Take multiple overall and damage photos, match them to a vehicle, and upload them to the company image server using the issued smart phone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers on the ACV Auctions digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem-solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.
• Proven success working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.
• Knowledge of system capabilities, relevant software packages, and web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision abilities required to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

The compensation range for this position is listed in the "Job Details" section at the bottom of this posting. The position is eligible for additional compensation through ACV's incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
