Maintenance Supervisor (Foreman), MRF/Compost
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor (Foreman) to lead daily maintenance operations at our MRF and Compost facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who knows how to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while guiding and developing a skilled maintenance team.
You'll play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting plant operations, and ensuring all maintenance activities meet safety and operational standards.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and lead maintenance technicians, assigning daily work orders based on operational priorities.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of maintenance staff.
- Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and parts requirements to leadership.
- Perform and oversee routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment including conveyors, grinders, balers, compactors, and related machinery.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Support facility maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, and minor building repairs.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and completed on time.
- Partner with operations teams to schedule repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Respond to urgent repair needs and emergency maintenance situations as required.
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE compliance.
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety standards.
- Complete daily work orders and accurately document maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.
- Identify parts and supply needs and assist with inventory control.
- Maintain tools, parts, shop areas, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Maintenance Technicians across Post Collections sites.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical certification or Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or facility environment
- 2+ year of supervisory or lead technician experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proven leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
