Summary
The Operations Staff supports the overall functionality, cleanliness, and readiness of all venues within the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center. Under the direction of the Operations Management team, this position is responsible for event setup and breakdown, facility upkeep, equipment support, and ensuring safe and efficient day-to-day operations. Operations Staff play a key role in creating a positive experience for guests, clients, and coworkers by maintaining high standards of quality, responding to operational needs, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are essential for success in this role.
- Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and other equipment needed for successful event execution.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on convention center equipment (seating, dasher boards, batteries, etc.).
- Clean and maintain back-of-house areas, garages, and workstations.
- Support daily facility operations, including trash removal, restocking supplies, and spill cleanup.
- Transport equipment to and from off-site storage as needed.
- Conduct machinery cleaning, washing, mopping, and spot cleaning.
- Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as required.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with a high regard for quality consistent with Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center standards.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment.
- Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Ensure proper facility preparation according to event requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum years of related work experience - 2 years
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must have a reliable working telephone number accessible by management for scheduling and business-related communication.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, including management.
