Job Description SummaryThe Maintenance Technician provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to our residents. This includes quality move‑ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the resident. The Maintenance Technician responds to our residents' service needs and is instrumental in helping deliver superior customer service to our residents.
Responsibilities- Prepares make‑ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping duties, and any necessary duties to provide residents with a quality move‑in experience.
- Responds to resident requests in a timely manner with a professional attitude.
- Has knowledge of maintenance functions such as plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, general carpentry skills, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
- Maintains grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep them clean, operational, and safe for residents.
- May be on call to respond to after‑hour emergencies.
- Reports any maintenance concerns in vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Performs maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Knowledgeable of state, local, and federal fair housing laws.
- Attends and participates in training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield.
- Performs all duties as assigned in a timely manner.
- Delivers superior customer service and represents the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Dresses in the Cushman & Wakefield uniform and adheres to professional appearance standards.
- Maintains all safety procedures and safeguards all company tools and equipment.
- Achieves high productivity through reliable and punctual on‑site attendance; reports any tardiness or attendance issues to the immediate supervisor.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Valid driver’s license and EPA 608 certification—Minimum Type II and CPO or local city required certificate.
- Ability to read/understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to compute basic math, prepare and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve problems involving several known variables in routine situations.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Follow all safety procedures.
High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school.
Experience1+ years of related experience.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Employees may be required to travel outside between properties in varying weather conditions.
Physical DemandsMust stand and walk for extended periods, ascend/descend staircases, ladders, step stools, travel outside between buildings. Required to remain stationary for about 85% of time; operate office machinery; travel up to 10% of time. Able to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally or frequently, and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
Compensation$22.95 – $27.00 per hour, depending on factors such as location, experience, and collective bargaining agreements.
