Facility Maintenance

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Facility Maintenance I role performs a variety of activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility’s ice, equipment, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems, and general operations. This position is responsible for the successful delivery of all aspects of the ice events and maintenance services in order to guarantee a safe, clean facility. This position is not eligible for remote work.

• Perform scheduled maintenance of equipment
• Assist with general related maintenance of the building and site
• Working events and changeover supervision crew
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service
• Must be able to add oil to compressors, drain chiller pot, change Zamboni blade, accurately manage and log ice plant readings
• Knowledge of ice maintenance skills and installation

• Responsible for completion of work orders assigned through management
• Ensures facility readiness and smooth operation of events
• Ensures a safe environment for all patrons and employees by following the life safety and emergency program
• Implement and practice facility regulations, policies and procedures
• Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions

• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• Willingness and desire to learn multiple areas of the sports and entertainment business
• Working knowledge of electrical circuits, outlets, lighting and lighting ballasts
• Basic knowledge of HVAC with ability to change filters belts, and bearings
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle large objects, tools, carts and drive machinery. Reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and hear for up to 8-14 hours a day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function, and may also be exposed to adverse conditions including inclement weather, noise, fumes, etc.
